It is a great pleasure and privilege for me, as the new
Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics, to welcome you to the website of
University of Hong Kong Management Alumni Society (UMA).
For the past three decades, the UMA has played an
instrumental role in uniting our alumni and linking them with the Faculty. Its success is evident through its
growing membership, which has evolved into a "Who's Who" list of Hong Kong
and the region, encompassing leaders from different industries and business
sectors. We are very proud of your
and the UMA's successes and
most appreciative of your loyal support to your alma mater.
As you can see from this website, the UMA exerts great
efforts in organizing events and activities throughout the year as so to
provide both networking as well as personal and professional development
opportunities to you and your fellow members. The UMA also actively contributes to the
community and I sincerely encourage your participation in its charitable
activities.
The Faculty is equally active in our development. We continue to be highly committed to
excellence in teaching and research, and of course, continual improvement. We are always looking for innovations and ideas to ensure that our
programs remain cutting-edge. In
addition, we are now working with top international partners on new executive
education programs. To complement
these initiatives, we will be opening new facilities in Cyberport
and Shanghai in the near future.
Our undergraduate programs continue to attract the best students from Hong Kong and the mainland and we will be
introducing new programs to meet the latest needs of the business community.
Last, and certainly not the least, HKU's latest 18th
ranking as the best university in the world by the highly respected Times
Higher Education Supplement, which is our best ranking yet, is extremely
exciting news.
We look
forward to continuing our ties with you, through the UMA, in the future. We are confident that with your and the
UMA's support and ongoing involvement,
the Faculty will rise to greater heights.
Enjoy your tour of the website!
